Easy Apple Raisin Oatmeal Recipe
This is somewhat of a recipe, but really it’s a tip for making a simple, easy breakfast that is not only yummy but healthy. I call it the Easy Apple Raisin Oatmeal Recipe. Instead of buying those instant oatmeal packets with the fruit it in. You can prep your fruit one day and put it in containers and then add it to your oatmeal when you’re ready. For this particular version here is what I used:
Instant oatmeal (I buy the large one)
At least 1 apple
1 tablespoon of raisins
Make your oatmeal like you normally would, adding in brown sugar for sweetness. Before my oatmeal is being made, I typically cut the apple into slices and I buy raisins to have them on hand. You can just add them to your oatmeal when you have it like you want it. Because the oatmeal will have some things added to it, I tend to add a little bit more water because when it sits, it quickly is absorbed by the oatmeal. You can use whatever fruit you want: strawberries, peaches…you name it. It’s definitely healthier than getting those instant packets with all of the artificial flavors. As a side note, my son stopped eating fruit because he’s in that picky toddler phase that some of them go through. I’ve been getting him to eat fruit again with it being in this oatmeal! So moms, if your kids like oatmeal, maybe you can try this out, too! We love it so I hope you do, too! Enjoy!
