The Fit Pregnancy Series

Fit Pregnancy Series

I have decided to create a video series of some of my workouts that my husband is doing with me at home during my pregnancy so I decided to call it The Fit Pregnancy Series.  :)  The great thing about this is, if people want to do some workouts at home, these exercises are great for anyone, but they are also pregnancy friendly.  As you will be able to see in this video, having a personal trainer/buddy to workout with in my husband is really helpful.  Not being able to view myself doing things can sometimes be a challenge for me.  I wasn’t always the type to workout in a gym or at home like this so he has definitely been my guide in the process and really since I started learning more about workouts and fitness.  I hope you all will enjoy these videos.  The first one is a bit longer than I expected, it’s roughly 8 minutes.  We are only showing you how to do the workout though, not taking you through my entire workout displaying each rep that I do which would have made it even longer!

Special shot out to my blog friend Nellie!  I saw an exercise at her place last week and I was able to incorporate it into my workout at home as you will see in the video!  You will have to also check out her post on it.  The idea, in my opinion, was brilliant so I’m giving credit where credit is due.  Without further ado, here’s the first Fit Pregnancy Series video!  Enjoy!

XoXo,

This is a great idea Brittnei! I worked out like a crazy person during my pregnancy. I think staying fit during pregnancy is so important. It helped me have a smooth delivery and a quick recover afterward.
It's so nice to have a supportive spouse as well.

Aw! Thanks, girl! I hope you will try some of these if you are in need of some workouts to do at home. It's funny because while we workout JR likes to follow us sometimes and he bites on the resistance bands lol.

  • It's great that you are working out during your pregnancy. I recently got some resistance bands, but I'd like to get the thing that you guys hung over the door now. I want to tone my arms.

    • Brittnei Washington

That sounds great, Sonya! I plan to share more things you can do with the resistance bands, too. My husband does so many different exercises with me using those :)

  • Get it Mama!!

  • Its so nice of you to come up with this video. I personally never did any workout when I was pregnant because the daily walking that I had to do fromhome to work was enough. Hehe. I was on a full time job up until the last day of my pregnancy. Great job to you! :)

Walking is great exercise in pregnancy. I just wanted to do more than that this time around. I worked out a few times while I was pregnant last time, but this time I plan on doing a natural birth and I didn't want to stop working out just because we found out we were expecting. So I'm just sharing with people what we are doing at home. Women can actually do it pregnant or not :)

  • Brittnei, you look amazing!!! Congrats on your pregnancy (and doing lunges!! holy crap!). iI'm so impressed with your vlog – keep it up!

  • Good for you for staying fit during your pregnancy. This will help you get right back to your normal self after you have the baby. Love the vlog, great info.

    • Brittnei Washington

Thanks so much, Chrishelle. I really just want to try to maintain a healthy lifestyle all the time you know? We started working out at home and then I found out we were expecting. I'm just going to continue to workout. I did bounce back easy the first time but this is the 2nd baby and I also am looking to do things natural so I'm hoping all of this will help :)

  • This is awesome! When I was pregnant, I didn't exercise at all because I thought it would be bad for the baby. Little did I know, right! Haha, I love these exercises.

    • Brittnei Washington

Aly, you aren't the only one who thought that. Many people have thought that for years. Some people still try to make it seem like you can do absolutely nothing lol.

  • Thanks for sharing this video! I love that the exercises are great for both those of us who aren't pregnant and anyone that is, too.

Yay, Pam! You are one of the few who have realized that! I did entitle it fit pregnancy series because I'm the one who is pregnant currently. Hopefully people who aren't pregnant will see they can benefit from it too. :)

  • That is so cool! I'm no longer popping buns out of the oven, but I wish I had taken a more active approach to staying fit while I was pregnant.

    • Brittnei Washington

This video is actually for all women. The exercises are just pregnancy friendly. I hope I will be able to help all types of women in all walks of life by showing this.

  • Great job keeping fit! I need a little of your motivation.

Angela, it is hard to stay motivated sometimes. Me and my husband try to hold each other accountable. Having support whether it is online or in person is really key to sticking with living a healthy lifestyle :)

  • Great video! It is so important to stay active while pregnant! You inspire us all to get into shape!

  • Great idea– I'm not pregnant but I love a fitness series!

    • Brittnei Washington

Thanks, Elizabeth. I hope women who are looking for one will find this helpful still. These are exercises I was doing before I was pregnant. The only difference now is what I am using as cardio. :)

  • Wonderful Video. Keep it up!

  • This is great, you and your hubby have done a wonderful job! I did yoga and dancing all the way through all three pregnancies, seriously I don't know if my births would have been so smooth if I hadn't. Keeping limber and strong is so important. Thank you for sharing your skills ;)

  • love this series! I wanted to work out with my recent pregnancy but I was to sick and had to many pains that I couldnt :/

    • Brittnei Washington

Yea if you noticed, I started the series at week 12 of my pregnancy where my sickness is a bit more spread out. We started working out at home before I got pregnant, but for the month of December, my workouts were few and far between because I was sick too :(

  • You are an inspiration to pregnant women. I remember the days when being pregnant meant you got to eat what you wanted becuase you would gain weight anyway! You are doing great!
