Welcome to Week 3 of Feature Friday!

Thank you to all who participated in Countdown in Style this week! We are so grateful for all the favorite posts that were shared.  Again, you all didn’t make it easy for me to pick 3 to be featured today.

Below are my FEATURED posts from this week:

A Little Dress by Rachel at The Random Writings of Rachel

IMG_2971

Perhaps it has to do with my desire to one day sew with my little girl or maybe this was just too adorable for words.  The first point is true, however, I do believe I chose this post because of the second.  Check out Rachel’s description of how a project came about with a little girl who wanted to make her own dress.  You will chuckle and I’m sure you will be smiling after you are finished reading this one.

“Extra” Special Gift Wrap With Gum by Melissa at Willamette Valley Wonder Woman

_giveextragum

I picked this one because it amazed me and even after seeing the picture, I was stunned and didn’t realize where the gum packaging was.  Either way, I looked at this as not only a cost effective way to make gift wrapping bows, but they are absolutely beautiful so I would make them even if I wasn’t trying to save any extra money. :)

Last but not least:

Easy and Affordable Christmas Décor by Making My Apartment A Home

cord-wrapped-vase-678x1024

I thought this was another easy way to do something for Christmas.  Who would have thunk it.  She gives great tips on how you can turn simple dollar store finds into lovely Christmas articles for your home.  I was impressed to say the least.

How to Get Paid and Drive Drive With Your Recipes by Maria at Music, Teaching and Parenting
Below are my FEATURED posts from this week:
Hot Spiced Caramel Apple Cider by Tenns at New Mama Diaries
I love coffee but I’ve never been much of a Starbucks girl.  I’ve gone a few times in my life, but I was always more of a Dunkin Donuts lover.  This recipe by my girl Tenns is her and her hubby’s take on a beverage they love at Starbucks.  Just look at that photo.  Doesn’t it make you want to try it?  I just envision myself on a cozy, winter night with my family drinking these in our huge coffee mugs!  You have to check this one out and I’m sure you will want to pin it for later. :)

The best in a long time by Hip to be Mom.
I honestly loved this post because I can relate.  If you stop by to read it, I’m pretty sure you will be able to as well.  I don’t want to give too much away, but I will say having worked in the service industry for several years prior to becoming a mom really made me empathetic to my clients’ perspectives because of experiences like the one Clairity had that she describes in this post.  I mean, I’ve been the customer many times before as well.  To say the least, I tried very hard to be the best client specialist I could be because great service is just so important.
Last, but not least:
It’s Ok To Be An Imperfect Mom- You Are Not Alone by Raina at San Diego HR Mom
Raina’s post I think needs to be read by so many moms.  It sort of reminds me of a book that some great blogger friends I have are in called The Mother of All Meltdowns.  (They’re having a huge sales event going on for it during the Holiday season, so you should definitely check that out.)  Did I just plug that in there?  Love you all!  But back to Raina!  I thought she was very brave to share her story with us and to be transparent about real life issues that happen when we bring babies into the world.  She really is such a sweetheart.  I’m very positive that you will thoroughly appreciate her taking the time to share this story with you as well.

Feature Friday!

countdown-in-style-banner

Welcome to the first Feature Friday!

First I want to thank all of you for making our first Countdown in Style the best ever!  We had 78 posts on our very first week!  There were some really amazing posts.  You all made it extremely difficult for me to choose even three favorites.  I wanted to choose like 10!  My only guess is as we grow, this will get even more difficult! Eeek!

Looking for a cute Thanksgiving craft by Michelle at MaMade Diaries
Below are my FEATURED posts from this week:
Momma’s Hands by Angel at Sew Crafty Angel
This post by Angel had me in tears.  If you didn’t get a chance to read this one, you must!  It was not only beautifully written, but you can just see and feel the pain, yet you are filled with joy as she tells you the story behind those hands.
8 Tips For a (sort of) Stress – Free Thanksgiving by Christina at Juggling Real Food and Real Life
This post speaks for itself.  Christina is always providing great tips to us moms trying to juggle it all.  This post, I think, is a must read prior to you starting the hussle and bussle of getting ready for this holiday season.  She lays it out there.  There were even some things I am guilty of that she mentions, providing an easier solution at every point.
And last but certainly not least:
Am I A Sucker? by Vashti at Vashti Quiroz-Vega’s Blog
Not only did this post have me in tears, but I told my husband about it.  That means a whole lot considering I know he doesn’t understand much about blogging, but this story moved me so much.  What she experienced here happens more often than we realize.  From personally understanding what this man she encountered could have been going through, I literally felt the extreme compassion that she had as she explains how the events unfolded.  You must read this one too!! :)
